Meet Our Guides

At the heart of every unforgettable safari is a guide who brings the wilderness to life. Our team is made up of passionate professionals whose deep knowledge, field experience, and respect for nature create meaningful and immersive journeys for every guest. More than just guides, they are storytellers, educators, and dedicated custodians of the land.

Each guide in our team brings their own unique voice and perspective, but they all share one goal: to help you connect more deeply with the beauty, power, and fragility of the African wilderness.

Jolandie Prinsloo

I have been guiding for 14 years and have always known that my future belonged in the bush. Growing up in an outdoors-loving family, I spent my childhood camping, hiking, horse riding, fishing, and visiting game farms. From as early as the age of five, I told my parents, “I’m going to work in the bush one day.” That passion never faded,it grew into a lifelong career in conservation.

Izette Beytell

I’ve been guiding for around five years. Originally, I planned to study animal sciences and genetics, but a few months before enrolling, I realised I’d be working with animals from a laboratory perspective, internally, not in the wild. That wasn’t what I envisioned. After some research, I discovered field guiding, and it felt like the perfect path, allowing me to observe and understand animals.

Lucas Lekoto

I never planned to become a nature guide, I actually studied commerce in school and hoped to pursue business management. But when funding wasn’t available after high school, life took a different path. In 2013, I was offered a government-funded learnership through Rupert Beiber, then CEO of the Waterberg Biosphere Reserve.

Hein Gildenhuys

My love for nature began with my family. My dad, Leon Gildenhuys, often took my mom and me on trips through the Waterberg, Kruger, and Pilanesberg, and those early adventures opened my eyes to the wonder of the bush. My uncle, Andre “Oom Ouboet” Gildenhuys, and my brother, Deon van der Lith, both respected guides, also played a major role.
